Yes Mono IS Thin Man but I think Thin Man isn't a single entity, it's different people. For instance, the Thin Man is shown to age so my theory is that Mono isn't Thin Man but his replacement. Yes he BECOMES Thin Man, I'm not saying he isn't ffs, I'm saying Thin Man is an entity that gets old and dies and when he dies he gets replaced by another child getting turned into him.
The original concept for Mono/Thin man came with a suit and tie. Then they removed those, probably to give him a more shabby look. I think it was for the better. Oh, and as a matter of fact the final version of the thin man does smile, it's just that we never get to see that clearly.
