  1. Basically if a crack has no seeders, it's dead. If I downloaded something and I'm seeding it, and you decide to download that same thing, you are leeching off of me. That's also why the more seeders there are, the faster the download is.

  2. Jul 18, 2009 · I've heard a claim that a torrent with zero seeders can actually be downloaded in a finite amount of time, because not all people subscribe to the same torrent file, but you can still find them using other techniques such as DHT.

    • Wait. The first option – and one that will often work for the majority of torrents you encounter – is to simply wait for a bit. Often, the seeder(s) simply aren’t online at the moment, and will come online later.
    • Find another file. Often, there are multiple torrent uploads of the same file. Sometimes they’re slightly different, like movies uploaded in different qualities or games with different compression.
    • Add more trackers. Another option is to simply add more trackers to your existing file. This can be done through a torrent tracker list. Simply copy and paste the trackers into your torrent client.
    • Use DHT. Or you can use DHT, which is an alternative way to find peers. With some torrent clients, this may already be enabled. But you should double check.
  3. Seeding is basically hosting a torrent and it's content for the swarm (other people who have the same torrent active in their clients). There are also partial seeders (people who unchecked some files in the torrent's file list) who only host part of the content. A swarm can be full of only partial seeders.

  4. It's possible (though probably not very likely) to have a torrent finish to 100% even if there are no seeders, because different people all have different pieces. Then your torrent client takes the different pieces from all the different people, and puts the jigsaw puzzle together.

  5. Aug 22, 2023 · Individuals sharing files over torrent networks are grouped into 3 major categories: seeds, leeches and peers. A seed is a member of the torrent swarm that has already downloaded the entire torrent file. Leechers and peers are members of the swarm that haven't downloaded the entire torrent file yet.
