Identification is provided through the NHS App and is fully secure. What happens if I don't want to use the service? The portal is an optional service to provide choice to patients who wish to interact with the hospital in a digital format, and requires you to ‘opt-in’.
Referral appointments. You can manage your referral if you were referred through the NHS e-Referral service. You can book, view, reschedule and cancel your first appointment. To manage your referral, go to nhs.uk/referrals. You can only manage your first referral appointment in the NHS App.
Nov 28, 2023 · The patient can continue using their email address, password and the security code sent to their phone number for authentication. They can also choose to be 'remembered' on their device, the first time they log into a website or app after setting up their NHS login.
Patients' preferences will be maintained if they have already selected a preference in the patient portal, and any change they make will change both on the patient portal and on the NHS App. The screenshots of the NHS App paperless preferences feature for hospital appointments are an example template.
If you do not wish to use the portal, simply do not sign up and you will continue to be contacted as normal. A reminder that medical teams are not currently monitoring any data or activity patients upload to the portal. If you have a medical emergency, please contact 111 or 999.
Managing your outpatient or virtual appointments online using the Whittington Health Patient Portal is optional, and patient care will not be impacted if you choose not to use it. If you choose to register, you will have the option to receive your appointment information by post or via the portal.
