When you join Scouts you are choosing to support young people and your local community, and we want you to have a great experience while you’re doing it! Volunteering might feel like a big step, but we want to make it as easy and enjoyable as possible.
The learning aims to introduce you to your new role and give you the basic information and skills you need to get started. This learning needs to be completed before your full appointment can be made. So with this in mind, you need to complete the learning within five months of joining scouts.

You can join Scouting at any stage of your life, from 4 years old and beyond. At 18 you can continue your Scouting adventure by joining the Scout Network or stay on as an adult volunteer.
Sep 4, 2018 · The Scout Section is for young people aged between 10½ and 14 years. There is some flexibility in the age range: young people can join from age 10, and can move to Explorers between age 13½ and 14½. It may sometimes be appropriate to extend this flexibility for young people with additional needs.
