    • Jim Henson wanted to make an entertaining movie for everyone. The Muppets Take Manhattan came out in the summer of 1984, where it faced off against violent “family films” like Gremlins and Indiana Jones and The Temple of Doom.
    • Working with Frank Oz wasn't easy for everyone. Because The Muppets Take Manhattan was Frank Oz’s first solo feature, the pressure was on for the director—and some of the cast felt it.
