He's sixth among Rockies in wins above replacement (23.8), fourth in hits (1,330) and wore the Rockies uniform in 1,247 games — good for third all-time behind Helton and Charlie Blackmon.
Mar 24, 2018 · Gonzalez spent nine seasons with the Rockies, becoming a three-time All-Star. He left as a free agent after the World Series, then returned to the Rockies in mid-March with a $5 million, one-year contract — a huge cut from his previous deal for $80 million over seven years.
After his poor performance in the 2017 season it was highly speculated that Gonzalez would not return to play for the Rockies in the 2018 season. After the 2017 season González did temporarily leave the team, and entered free agency.
