The film begins in the present day, within a country house. A young girl named Rosaleen dreams that she lives in a fairytale forest during the late 18th century with her parents and sister Alice. But one night Alice is chased down and killed by wolves.
He enters the grandmother’s house and strips naked in front of her, before transforming into a wolf and devouring her in her bed. Then he turns back into a man and discards the bloody sheets and the grandmother’s bones and hair, and prepares for the girl’s arrival.
