This was the main and final logo of the series. It was used from 1991 to the show's finale in 1998. The series is currently rebroadcast in syndication, on Comedy Central and Netflix.
When Jerry was convinced to come back for season 9, it was the outer space theme- which I (and others) sort of think was to symbolize how "out there" some of the plotlines and behavior had gotten. Each season had a different logo. With Season 9's obviously being the best.
The Seinfeld logo is a trademark, not a copyright. It's owned by Castle Rock Entertainment (a division of Warner Brothers) and Sony Pictures Television, not NBC Universal.
