She struggles to understand why he didn’t just show up for break because despite the supernatural elements of her life she has never had to take on true adult responsibilities.

   • I mean you have Jonathon that’s worrying about having to take care of his family, and thus potentially holding Nancy back from her dreams (because Jonathon knows Nancy will give them up to be with him) and thus he’s worried about making Nancy come to resent him in the future as a result and doesn’t want that.

   • People seem to be confused with why Jonathan is avoiding Nancy and the answer is pretty obvious. And no it has nothing to do with whether or not he loves her. He very clearly does but he at this moment thinks he does not have a future. His future how he views it is he's going to sacrifice it so he can take care of Joyce.
