Born in the Ivory Coast, Guéhi has represented England at youth level and was a key part of the 2017 FIFA U-17 World Cup winning squad. He made his debut for the senior team in 2022, and was a starting member of the squad that were runners-up at UEFA Euro 2024.
The classy central defender received his first senior call-up in March 2022, when Gareth Southgate named him in the squad to face Switzerland and Cote d'Ivoire at Wembley Stadium. His call came on the back of an excellent campaign with Crystal Palace, where he'd made the switch across London from Chelsea in the summer of 2021.
Guéhi describes himself as “strong, comfortable on the ball and hopefully growing to be a leader one day.” These traits are evident in his play, with the 21-year-old having captained England Under-21s and made himself a mainstay for Swansea despite being one of the squad’s youngest players.
