In Connecticut newspaper archives, you can search through newspaper publications from big cities like Waterbury and Middletown. But you can also search through news articles from smaller towns like Canaan, Salisbury, and Stafford Springs.
The Connecticut State Library’s wide collection of newspapers, including state, national, local, and more. Digital and microfilm archives of newspapers are also available.
To date, the Connecticut State Library has been awarded $1.5 million in funds to digitize 500,000 pages of microfilmed newspapers in total. The current cycle, our sixth, runs from September 1, 2023, to August 31, 2025. To learn more about the project, please see our Project Overview.
