Temple Newsam (historically Temple Newsham), is a Tudor - Jacobean house in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, with grounds landscaped by Capability Brown. The house is a Grade I listed building, [1] one of nine Leeds Museums and Galleries sites [2] and part of the research group, Yorkshire Country House Partnership. [3]
Temple Newsam is set in 1500 acres of scenic parkland, forming the second largest part of the Forest of Leeds over in the east of the city. The house is made up of 42 rooms and has drawn flattering comparison with London’s Hampton Court Palace in its style and presentation.
