Bambi: The lonely destiny of outsiders. (1869–1945) was an Austrian novelist, journalist, and critic. Jack Zipes has written, translated, and edited dozens of books, including The Original Folk and Fairy Tales of the Brothers Grimm and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice (both Princeton).
From playful fawn to independent adult, the book follows the story of Bambi, a deer. His life changes from a carefree childhood to slightly traumatic adulthood where he has to face a lot of dangers posed by human hunters.
