- Happy Valley. Seven years after the last season ended, we finally have the third and final instalment of Sally Wainwright's lifelike, emotional police drama set in Northern England.
- Kaleidoscope. It's choose-your-own chronology in this heist drama. Giancarlo Esposito stars as Leo Pap, mastermind of a gang trying to rob mogul Roger Salas (Rufus Sewell) of $7 billion held in his supposedly impenetrable New York City vault.
- The Lying Life of Adults. Based on Elena Ferrante's 2019 novel, this Italian-language series is a coming-of-age story set in Naples, familiar to readers of Ferrante's four other Neapolitan novels and their television adaptation, My Brilliant Friend (from different producers).
- Copenhagen Cowboy. A thriller laced with the surreal, Nicholas Winding Refn's series premiered at the 2022 Venice Film Festival, which makes sense. In its fluorescent visual look and dark, mysterious sensibility, it resembles his feature films, including The Neon Demon and Drive.
- The Traitors. More than a year and two Baftas later, The Traitors is finally back for round two. Twenty-two new players, Faithful and Traitors among them, have already taken the fated steam train to Ardross Castle in the Scottish Highlands to betray, lie and murder one another, each hoping to win a share of up to £120,000.
- Truelove. A darkly hilarious, sharp and, given the current conversations about assisted dying, timely drama from the maker of The End of the F***ing World, Truelove follows a group of septuagenarians who jokingly promise to help kill one another should they ever face a more natural (but slow and painful death).
- Julia. Sarah Lancashire is marvellous as the original food influencer Julia Child, who is credited with bringing French cooking to America in the 1960s.
- Call the Midwife. It’s only been two weeks since the Christmas special and already it’s time to return to Nonnatus House for the 13th series. Unlucky for some, but hopefully not for the four new nuns – Rosalind Clifford, Joyce Highland, Kathy Downes and Norelle Morris – who have enrolled on the new midwifery training scheme.
