  1. Sep 8, 2023 · Well-known member. Sep 8, 2023. #10. Mark IV. You can't go wrong with either. The VII is a V that is easier to dial in. The IV mode on it is virtually identical to a IV with presence pulled and mid gain on, and the C+ mode is tighter and crunchier than the JP. The JP is tricky, it's very guitar and cab dependent like the V.

  2. Feb 26, 2024 · The JP2C doesnt have the same problem and although it is a little less refined on the top end, it actually supports a more aggressive voicing it was intended for which is fine. Originally I was looking into a VII but they all seem to fall short on AB clips against IIC's vs the same AB of JP2Cs against IIC's.

  3. Jan 29, 2024 · Recently, after enjoying the Neural DSP Mesa IIC+/++ Suite and Archetype Petrucci, I thought about Mark VII or JP-2C. I went with the Mesa JP-2C after researching and hearing JP talk about the design decisions. So if you are looking for a bedroom amp, stick with the Mark V90 or get a load box as the 25W power mode is much louder than ...

  5. Mar 18, 2023 · The differences do sound fairly subtle. The Mark VII sounded very tight, I suspect they did the non-GEQ model coupling cap which cuts bass before the GEQ for a faster response, just like on the Mark V. The JP2C definitely had a noticeably larger low end, i was surprised Ola didn’t notice. I’m trying to remember if the JP2C has PULL DEEP ...

  6. Jun 6, 2023 · The Mesa/Boogie Mark VII is available as a head, rackmountable unit and combo. (Image credit: Mesa/Boogie) The Mark V provided a pretty damn good selection of classic Mesa Boogie amp tones, but I think that most players will find the Mark VII’s selections are even better. The highly coveted Mark IIC is back and sounds as incredible as it did ...

  8. Channel 2 is the JP-2C’s Crunch generator. This Channel is all about aggressive, tight overdriven rhythm sounds delivered with amounts of Gain usually associated with Lead Modes or Channels. It IS in fact a Lead Channel… the LEAD Channel from the MARK IIC+ in its original state circuit-wise. The setting of the Gain has been optimized for ...
