Wellingborough (/ ˈ w ɛ l ɪ ŋ b r ə / WEL-ing-brə) is a market town and civil parish in the North Northamptonshire unitary authority area of Northamptonshire, England.It is 65 miles (105 km) from London and 11 miles (18 km) from Northampton, and is on the north side of the River Nene.

Wellingborough is a large market town situated along the banks of the River Nene with excellent road links and direct train services to London. Although there is evidence of pre-historic and Roman occupation in the area, Wellingborough is essentially Anglo-Saxon in origin, occupied by an Anglo-Saxon war band in the early sixth Century, "Wendeling burh" - the stronghold of Waendel's people.
