There's something for everyone really, Robot Carnival was romantic, funny and sometimes deep and filled with symbolisms. I know this term gets thrown around a lot but this series is very underrated. I can't recommend this enough to cyberpunk or mecha fans.

Go watch something like Patema Inverted and you'll see what I mean. It's competent, but not better than a second string OVA back in the old days, or anything on TV these days. Besides, it's not like modern anime is animated on 2s.

Jan 19, 2012 · I'm guessing this might not happen since the anime industry in general in the US doesn't seem to pick up older titles anymore. Also, does anyone know if the dubbed version actually came out on a VHS tape? I still have my recording from the Saturday anime weekends from the Sci-Fi network and am going to hold onto it until I can find a better copy.

It also shows how creative directors and animators can take a concept in so many unique directions when given the freedom to do so.
