Feb 22, 2020 · But why, though? Revenge is purely for threat due to its incredibly low damage, but high threat modifier. It also shares a cooldown with Overpower, so you should never be in a situation where it’s somehow more efficient to use Revenge for damage if you’re beginning this scenario in Battle Stance.
Oct 21, 2024 · If you are going for damage or you already have Ignore Pain up, use Revenge. Generally, you should still prioritize Thunder Clap above Revenge, as wasting 5 Rage is minimal, and the extra damage gained from doing so is worth it.
Oct 21, 2024 · In AoE situations, you additionally generate stacks of Colossal Might if you strike 3 or more targets with Revenge when Seismic Reverberation is talented (which you absolutely should). Most of your AoE as Colossus comes from Demolish and Revenge as both will hit like absolute TRUCKS.

Your opener for Single and Multi-targets as protection is the same, with a small deviation depending on Hero Talents. Single Target: 1. Ravager From range 2. Charge + Avatar + Shield Block 3. Demo Shout 4. Demolish (if Colossus Hero Talent) 5. Shield Charge 6. Thunderous Roar 7. Proceed to normal rotation, prioritizing Thunder blast when you proc (...
A few rules need to be adhered to when playing Protection to maximize your damage and survivability. First, use Shield Slam the second it comes off cooldown, either naturally or via a reset from Devastator. Second, your Violent Outburst procs should ALWAYS be spent on Shield Slam. The extra rage generated from Shield Slam with a Violent Outburst pr...
A general rule of thumb that’s easy to follow for Protection Warrior offensive cooldowns is to just simply use everything on cooldown. You have so much cooldown reduction that it’s not often you’ll ever hold a cooldown and should just use it immediately when it comes up for the most value. Avatar - 1.5 minute Cooldown that causes you to deal 20% in...
Impending Victory - One of our only self heals. It’s only 20% of our max health but don’t be afraid to use it as it resets when we get the killing blow on enemies. Spell Reflection - Honestly this is used more for offensive purposes than defenses but I’m putting it here anyway as regardless of the reflect effect, it still reduces magic damage taken...
I'd only use Shield Slam if the target already has 5 sunders and demo-shout. It might generate more threat but sunders also boost damage for everyone who does physical damage, so the only thing with a higher priority than sundering should be Revenge. Whether to use Shield-block depends.
Like you can have overpower in battle stance on same button as revenge in defencive stance. I usually change my stances WITH ALT+Q/E/R with Q, E, R being my main offencive rotation abilities without modifiers pressed that change depending on stance I am using.
5 days ago · Patch 11.0.5 - The War Within. Protection Warrior. Mountain Thane buffs your baseline rotation and brings in more rage without adding an extra ability. Colossus has higher damage potential than Mountain Thane but comes at the cost of less defensive value and a worse playstyle. Overall Mountain Thane is recommended for dungeons. Mountain Thane.
