You're still assuming that the only reason to include respecs is to cover for balance issues. It's not. It's the game designer's responsibility to ensure the game is balanced, but that has nothing whatsoever to do with whether or not there should be a respec.
I think there should be one free option for respec your character but only spells and ability points. Because some new ppl do not know what will work for them. If you want another respec it should go with some punishment or be really expensive.
For the respec option, it has been pretty much stated already. It seems to be a rather common solution in ER to play 2/3 of the game the way you want, and then when the final areas and strong bosses come, respec into an OP build.
