      • Under the Dome showcases Stephen King at his very best and his very worst. Loyal fans will love this addition to the King catalogue as it is a well-written and compelling read that is strong on characterisation, featuring moments of genuine tension. Some however may find this book over-long and over-indulgent.

  2. Anything is worth your time if you want to have a valid opinion on it and want to know exactly why something is bad. That said, Under The Dome the show was absolutely horrible. Suffered from CBS primetime syndrome, I think. The book is a pretty solid late King novel.

  3. Jan 1, 2009 · Under the Dome is the story of the small town of Chester's Mill, Maine which is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. 4. It is definitely worth the read, one of the best times I’ve ever had reading a King novel especially when it first came out.

  5. Some are definitely better than others. I liked Under the Dome, but also was disappointed in the ending. Some must reads in my opinion by Stephen King: -The Stand. Very long. Very complex, lots of characters like Under the Dome. Probably harder emotionally to read now re: global pandem*c but still an excellent read.

  6. Under the Dome opens in Chester’s Mill, a small Maine town which is suddenly and inexplicably cut off from the rest of the world by a dome. It’s kind of like a humongous semi-permeable upside-down petri dish, which is fitting, because Under the Dome plays out like a kind of human experiment: what happens when a small town of people is ...

  7. Nov 5, 2009 · In Stephen King’s new novel, “Under the Dome,” the people of Chester’s Mill, Me., get a letter from the president. Typically exalted in its rhetoric, it wrings a tear from at least one grateful...

  8. I watched about 3 episodes & lost interest. The show so diluted the book, the 2 should be viewed as totally separate entities. I went off King's books nearly 20 years ago, until i recently read '16-21-63'. Quite possibly one of his best books. So i read 'Under the Dome'. I didn't enjoy that as much as '16-21-63', but it was still quite good.
