P19 cell is a pluripotent cell line derived from a mouse teratocarcinoma that can differentiate into cells of all three germ layers. It is widely used to study the mechanisms of drug-induced differentiation, especially neurogenesis and myogenesis, and the related signaling pathways.
Oct 2, 2020 · P19 binds sRNA duplexes and inhibits RNA silencing in a cell-autonomous manner (Silhavy et al., 2002; Vargason et al., 2003; Ye et al., 2003); notably, P19 also suppresses the intercellular spread of silencing, and this property is assumed to be the direct result of sRNA sequestration by the viral protein, an idea supported by ...

May 1, 2003 · P19 cells are embryonal carcinoma cells derived from mouse teratocarcinomas that can differentiate into various cell types, including cardiomyocytes. This review summarizes the studies on P19 cells and their subclones that have contributed to our understanding of cardiac cell development and physiology.

P19. Cell Line Description. The P19 cell line was derived from an embryonal carcinoma induced in a C3H/He strain mouse. The cells can be cloned at high efficiency in medium containing 0.1mM beta-mercaptoethanol. The pluripotent P19 cells can be induced to differentiate into neuronal and glial cells in the presence of retinoic acid.
Feb 8, 2000 · The INK4A locus encodes two independent but overlapping genes, p16INK4A and p19ARF, and is frequently inactivated in human cancers. The unusual structure of this locus has lead to ambiguity...
