Unfortunately, these films are usually based on true stories. Twisted Desire is one of them. I'm not sure of the actual facts of the case, but in the way this story is told, the Melissa Joan Hart character is being totally suffocated by a too-strict father.
It’s a ’based on true story’ TV movie noticeably low on camp or melodrama and instead provides a pretty straightforward retelling of events from the days leading up to the crime to the aftermath.
