The Tunnel (French: Tunnel) is a British–French crime drama television series adapted from the 2011 Danish–Swedish crime series The Bridge (Bron/Broen). The series began broadcasting on 16 October 2013 on Sky Atlantic in the UK, and on 11 November 2013 on Canal+ in France.
I just finished season 1 of The Tunnel on Prime. I loved the pacing, the balance between English and French language/culture etc and the story line had me from the first dramatic reveal. If you love a good investigative thriller, this is a show to watch.

- It’s different to Season 2 of The Bridge. While the first series of The Tunnel stuck fairly closely to the original plot of The Bridge, transposed to the English Channel with a British and French officer forced to work together, Series 2 is going its own way.
- Stephen Dillane and Clémence Poésy are back. Like the original show, the central pairing remains the same for round two – Game of Thrones’ Stephen Dillane is back as British policeman Karl Roebuck, while Harry Potter actress Clémence Poésy returns as Elise Wassermann.
- It’s not just about solving the plane crash. Just like the way The Bridge gave distinctive representations of Denmark and Sweden, The Tunnel has broader ambitions than just being a simple murder mystery.
- It was delayed due to the Brussels terror attacks. With the plot once again – slight spoiler alert – concerning terrorist attacks, the series was delayed by Sky Atlantic for a week out of respect for the Brussels attacks in March.
Reviews and user scores as well as critics have been fair to good for the first year but definitely good to better in the second for a reason, it's good.
