   I'm reading the books (currently on book 8 of 12) and the show is different but it is honestly the best adaption of a book series I've seen. They meld characters together for the better, hit all the main story points and even come up with a few of their own that slaps harder than the books.

   • The Last Kingdom is Historical Fiction. The story telling is top tier. The acting is superb. The budget doesnt significantly increase until season 3. So production value is lower in the first 2 season. GoT was much more polished in terms of production value due to its massive budget. But that is part of this show's charm. It feels real.
