Warner Animation Group’s “Smallfoot” slipped under my radar when it was released back in September of 2018. A couple months ago, my 3-year-old son saw the preview on HBO, and since we’ve burned through almost every other animated film ever made, I was willing to give it a shot.
Smallfoot ends up as a messy mix of socio-theological allegory and straightforward fluff with a narrative that's too often frozen in its tracks. Full Review | Original Score: 2.5/5 | Jul 25, 2020
Sep 28, 2018 · This is a quality movie, carefully disguised as a mediocre one. It’s a chore to get through the beginning, but builds a strong story, and leaves legitimate good feelings on the way out of the theater. Smallfoot is not a “The Lego Movie”-style surprise classic, but it’s better than most.

Smallfoot may not be on the level of the best Pixar and Dreamworks efforts but it will make passable half-term viewing for family audiences.
Sep 25, 2018 · So maybe Trump does loom large. That’s not the only politicized part of this children’s film, though. There’s also the clandestine meeting of so-called “resistance agents” known as the Smallfoot Evidentiary Society led by none other than Stonekeeper’s daughter Meechee (Zendaya).
