I just watched "The Beach." It's a good movie. Even though it's a movie made in 2000, it still feels modern in many ways. I actually go to a Buddhist temple. The first scene is Richard walking in front of a lying Buddha statue after leaving the airport. Sal is shown in the same pose with a bindi on her forehead.
