I've enjoyed Adventures of Robin Hood since I was a kid, and still think it's good, but when I watched it recently I most certainly didn't feel like it 'held up'. Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves is much more cinematic, with way better characters, higher stakes, and superior action (not that it's hard to outdo a film from the 1930ies).
