May 30, 2022 · Here's the Tokyo Ghoul ending explained. Note: Anime adaptations often differ slightly from their source manga. To deal with as little confusion as possible, we'll only be discussing the anime ending.
The ending feels rushed and left a lot of questions unanswered. Now I must live on my life without ever knowing what happen to Yoshimura and Eto at the end of the story. Or while it is a happy ending, I don't know how the human and the ghoul would find a way to cohabite. The hints are too vague.
And also the theme of Tokyo ghoul is to not be held up by the past and live in the present which also applies here. Obviously there’s a lot of CCG people still against the idea, but seeing Amon, an investigator they respected that also shared the same perspective as them as one point, and Suzuya, someone who wants to stop conflict and is looked upon as the hope of the CCG.
Tokyo Ghoul Re was a good series too but this arc was rushed as hell and the ending was like a Shonen one (I love Shonen but this is a Seinen series). Tokyo Ghoul deviated itself from other mangas and showed that sometimes you don't always get a reward in life. Life isn't fair and you're going to go through a lot of hardships.
Quite honestly if it animated the part 1 ending people would still be somewhat mad. It ended similar to this but because a part 2 was announced people praise it. It was a good tragic ending but a lot of the plot points needed were ignore. I think if Pierrot showed a quick scene of Sasaki it would have been a bit better of an ending.
