The Peabody Library is absolutely beautiful. It's free and definitely worth a short visit to see it in person. There was also a cool exhibition on rare American sheet music. Right next to the Washington Monument in the Mt. Vernon neighborhood.

Sep 4, 2023 · This is an underappreciated gem of Baltimore. While the entrance may be too conventional to be overlooked, a step into the library is like a travel to Europe. With decorative Greek columns, George Peabody Library is a temple of literature. Unfortunately only the ground floor is open to public.

But as everyone has said - it is truly worth seeing - even if restricted to the first floor. Also, there is an interesting display of books and historical information in a room just prior to entering the library.
