Jan 25, 2012 · “The Grey” is an unrelenting demonstration that wolves have no opinion. When they attack, it’s not personal. They’ve spent untold millennia learning how to survive, naked and without weapons, in fearsome places like the Arctic Circle in the dead of winter.
Unlike a lot of action movies that try to appear as though they have real danger, The Grey actually does have real danger. SPOILER: All the characters die. I know the ending can be seen as somewhat ambiguous, with Liam Neeson about to fight off some wolves before it cuts to black, but they way I see it, he has no chance against them.

The Grey is probably his best film to date because of the emotional narrative. And it’s a solidly made survival film too. I saw Boss Level and Copshop (btw Toby Huss made that film worth seeing, he should have had a bigger role) recently, they’re not incredible, but they’re not terrible either.
