Mar 5, 2022 · Good to read your review. I rate this one a little higher than you. It’s a bit padded in the middle (the scenes with Lewis at the race track are too long) but it’s a fascinating premise, with some terrific acting (Phyllis Logan, Tony Haygarth).

The book Daughters of Cain is a very good read, and what this episode managed to do was not only being fairly faithful to the book, but also brilliantly crafted on its own merits.

Top recommendation is The Reflecting Skin. Also, Twin Peaks, but even moreso than Twin Peaks would be Fire Walk With Me, the Twin Peaks movie, it’s the story of Laura Palmer, very similar to the story of Preacher’s Daughter and some of the themes of Preacher’s Daughter.
