    • Blade Runner (1982) Directed by Ridley Scott. Starring Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young. Action, Drama, Sci-Fi (1h 57m) 8.1 on IMDb — 89% on RT. The Replicants of Blade Runner aren't exactly villains, but they do pose a threat to society.

    • Metropolis (1927) Directed by Fritz Lang. Starring Brigitte Helm, Alfred Abel, Gustav Fröhlich. Drama, Sci-Fi (2h 33m) 8.3 on IMDb — 97% on RT. As the oldest film on this list, you may need to give Metropolis a miss if you can't stand old black-and-white movies.
  3. I've always considered the movie to be decent, yet also pretty forgettable. Its not a bad film by any means, but its not exactly memorable either. Its a pretty generic film overall, and doesn't really have much to set it apart from other animated kids films of that time period.

  5. Mar 10, 2005 · Like “ Finding Nemo,” this is a movie that is a joy to behold entirely apart from what it is about. It looks happy, and, more to the point, it looks harmonious. One of the reasons this entirely impossible world works is because it looks like it belongs together, as if it evolved organically.

  6. In a world of sentient robots, striving young inventor Rodney Copperbottom (Ewan McGregor) wants to work for the avuncular Bigweld (Mel Brooks), whose Bigweld Industries makes spare robot parts.

  7. ROBOTS takes place in an all-mechanical world. Rodney Copperbottom (voiced by Ewan McGregor) arrives after 12 hours of labor -- that's how long it takes his robot parents too assemble him from a kit. They are loving and devoted but not wealthy.
