- Plain and simple, Ring 0 is a triumph from start to finish. From opening theme song, to the closing segments of the terror and demise that any viewer already knows about if they have seen Ring and Ring 2. While not authentically a surprise, the way it was filmed is; and it is truly amazing to see it first hand. It makes it seem much more factual.

Ring 0 is great. It has such a melancholy, oppressive feeling at times. "Rasen" is... what it is. Definitely a radically different direction than the series ended up being with Ring 2 and Ring 0.
The first film is exceptional, the second isn't bad but didn't hold a match to the first although it ties off things well & a prequel was the sensible way to go. Ring 0's my second favourite from the 3 films, nicely shot & unexpected to be rooting for Sadako although her tale is a sad one here.

The cinematography is fantastic and the acting is great. The story of Sadako is an interesting one and genuinely pretty heartbreaking to watch play out. If you are a fan of Ringu and have not seen Ring 0: Birthday, this is a must watch. Truly an underrated gem. 11 comments.
