No Highway in the Sky ★★★1951. Eccentric scientist Theodore Honey (Stewart) works for the Royal Aircraft Establishment, which has just produced a new plane, the Reindeer. But Honey tells his boss Dennis Scott (Hawkins) that the plane has a serious defect.
A year later, the pair took to Hampshire, England to film this intelligible drama based both on a novel and real life events. And having spent a good portion of his career producing lighthearted comedies, No Highway in the Sky (or just No Highway - apparently) certainly has moments of subtle comedic relief, which is always welcomed.
