This study presents significant theoretical and practical implications through the integration of social cognitive theory with servant leadership research.

Such proactive action can be driven by a need for achievement, a lesser investigated aspect of the proactive motivation model.
Hypothesis 1: Need for achievement is positively associated with employee voice. The model of proactive motivation (Parker, Bindl, & Strauss, 2010) further suggests that the goals of proactive behaviors are directed toward making changes and achieving a future end state (Grant & Ashford, 2008).
