  1. That darkness along with supporting artwork makes Bleach a better shonen than Naruto in an aspect. The big win for Naruto comes from the overall flow of the story from arc to arc, interesting and detailed story and the popularity monopoly. In the end, for me it's not a clear distinction as to which one is better.

One of the biggest selling points of Narutois the brilliant world that Kishimoto has created, which is intricately detailed and awe-inspiring to behold in every possible. This makes it easy to understand why the story of the Shinobi is still going strong in Boruto: Naruto Next Generations— the world is still ripe with unfound potential, and Kishimo...

When one compares Naruto to Ichigo, it goes without saying that the former has just way more of a likable and well-developed personality. RELATED: Bleach: Ichigo's 5 Best Victories (& 5 Times He Faced Defeat) The fact of the matter is that Ichigo is just way too bland and cliched as a protagonist, and can't even hold a candle to the brilliance of N...

That being said, one can't deny that Ichigo has some of the coolest powers in the entirety of shonen. Kubo might've gone a bit too far when it came to powering up Ichigo, but one can't deny the fact that the end result is nothing short of breathtaking. Of course, that is not to say that Naruto's powers aren't amazing in their own right. Watching a ...

The beating heart of Naruto is easily the complex relationship between Naruto and Sasuke, and how the former would do everything in his power to bring the latter over to the side of good after his descent into darkness. Watching these two budding shinobi grow as individuals before meeting together in a climactic fight — widely considered to be one ...

However, it would be impossible to talk about great story arcs without mentioning the absolute masterclass that is the Soul Society arc in Bleach. Not only does it establish a world that Ichigo and his friendswill frequent more often, but it also features some of the greatest battles of all time. Watching Ichigo come into his own as a shinigami, un...

Whatever issues fans might've had with the final arc of Naruto, it certainly needs to be said that the anime ended exactly like how it should've — with a final showdown between Naruto & Sasuke and the crowning of Naruto as Hokage. This was exactly what fans were waiting for throughout Naruto, and the series definitely didn't disappoint in this rega...

One exciting thing about Bleachis that it's finally getting a new anime adaptation after the previous one ended its run oh-so-long ago. The act of leaving Ichigo's story incomplete didn't really sit well with fans, so this announcement was definitely a blessing indeed. We've already talked about the brilliance of Bleach's Soul Society arc. Well, the sad part about this is that the Soul Society arc is pretty much where Bleach — as both a manga and an anime — peaked. After this arc, we got another rehash of the same story beats in the Arrancar arc, a Fullbring arc that could've been skipped over and nothing major w...

However, Bleach isn't the only show that squandered all the goodwill it had built up in a few chapters. The same can be said for Naruto as well, although this dip in quality was for a shorter time. It also helped that Naruto has only one bad arc, while Bleachhad several. That being said, one can't deny just how much of a slog the Fourth Great Shino...

  2. Naruto does have more filler than bleach. Shippuden has 500 episodes, 140+ more than bleach, which comes in at 275 filler episodes. Bleach has 366 episodes with 164 fillers. Edit: Technicality but just depends on how you view "more"

  3. Naruto has much better pacing and feels far less repetitive than bleach, and the build up of all the villains is really really good, and the side cast isn’t as bad as people say it is. Bleach has really good art, characters, powers, and is overall really solid, but most of the attention is just Ichigo and the development of the side cast, so ...

    • 1 Bleach's Manga Has The Best Art. Bleach, One Piece, and Naruto all have great artwork, but Bleach has the best, especially since it borrows some of the gritty realism of seinen manga while still feeling distinctly shonen.
    • 2 Bleach's Combat System Feels Like Three In One. All of the big three titles have great combat systems, and they are roughly on par in terms of quality and depth.
    • 3 Bleach's Worldbuilding Is Easier To Follow. For truly dedicated One Piece fans, it's worth the effort to keep up with Eiichiro Oda's expansive worldbuilding across 1,000+ episodes, but there is a formidable barrier to entry.
    • 4 Bleach's Humor Isn't So Crude. The shonen big three anime series all have great humor, but for most viewers, crude and childish jokes can be overused or uncomfortable to hear.
  4. Feb 24, 2024 · Then again, shonen fans may note that Naruto and Luffy are clearly Goku clones, albeit well-written ones, while Ichigo Kurosaki is almost nothing like Goku. Shonen characters can still be highly compelling as Goku 2.0 and sometimes are; but even so, the shonen world needs more than an endless procession of Goku wannabes.
