  1. May 30, 2023 · The RTIC holds up to 36 cans of beer — eight more than the Yeti. Michael Frank. On top of that, we added a layer of loose ice, followed by 21 beers and non-boozy soda in the Yeti, and 24 in the RTIC, with a mixture of tallboys and 12-ouncers. Yes, this part required a bit of eye-balling to get a fair battle (since the RTIC holds more than the ...

  2. Sep 24, 2024 · The key differences between RTIC and YETI are price and, per our Product Testing Team’s thorough evaluations, performance. YETI products tend to be a bit more expensive. A 45-quart YETI Tundra cooler, for example, costs $300, while the 45-quart RTIC wheeled cooler runs for $270. Similarly, a 42-ounce straw mug from YETI costs $45, whereas the ...

  3. Oct 31, 2023 · To confirm whether a particular model is made in the USA requires a call to Yeti. Performance RTIC Hard Coolers rticoutdoors. In my test of the insulation of the best camping coolers, it was fairly clear that Yeti does make a marginally better cooler than Rtic, although not the best cooler (that would be the ROVR RollR). To test these coolers ...

    • Yeti vs RTIC: Which Is Better?

    Durability

When you are spending a lot on high-end coolers, durability is key and you should expect a high-quality cooler for your money. RTIC and Yeti coolers are all super and equally durable due to their design, especially the hard case coolers. Yeti does do a better job with the latches and hinges though. The RTIC soft pack does lose against the Yeti soft cooler though as the zipper on the RTIC is likely to fail at some point, whereas Yeti’s magnet seal will work forever. When it comes to warranty,...

    Size And Insulation Power

When it comes to size, both Yeti and RTIC products are like-for-like, so you are getting the same amount of cooling space. But, Yeti’s cooler is lighter than RTIC’s cooler when matched size for size. When it comes to insulation power, there are so many variables it is hard to know who wins. RTIC’s products come with an “ice lifespan” whereas Yeti simply states “unmatched” since they know making claims as to how long ice lasts depends on a lot of things. Overall, they are both good at keeping...

    Pricing

Yeti’s products come at a premium price and are much more expensive than RTIC’s. RTIC’s coolers and drinkware are around half the price of Yeti’s which is a big difference. This makes it harder to back Yeti as RTIC coolers are at such a great price for such a similar product. But, you do lose out on the better warranty, the better design, and the lower weight that Yeti provides.

Are Yeti and RTIC made by the same company?

No, RTIC and Yeti are not the same company and their products are not made in the same factory either, despite being very alike.

What is the story behind YETI and RTIC?

Yeti was founded in 2006 by two brothers and RTIC was founded in 2015, by two different brothers. So Yeti was way ahead of the game with a full 9 years in the industry until RTIC showed up. RTIC marketed their coolers as “half the price of Yeti but holds more ice” after which Yeti sued for patent and trademark infringement, and won. Since then RTIC’s slogan is “Overbuilt. Not Overpriced” and they had to redesign their coolers away from Yeti’s. Overall, they are very similar brands and RTIC co...

    Is YETI a luxury brand?

Whether Yeti is a luxury brand or not, is up for speculation. But, considering they are a premium and lifestyle brand, I would have to say yes. Owning a Yeti is a bit of a statement but it does come with functional quality benefits as their products are awesome too. It is safe to say they have done an incredible job in their marketplace.

If we are talking about product quality, warranty, and customer service Yeti is hands down better in my eyes. Their products last longer and have a way more thoughtful design than RTIC’s and are backed up with better warranties and customer service. But, when you throw in the spanner of Yeti products being close to twice the price of RTIC’s, the de...

  5. RTIC 65 vs Tundra 65. Similarly to the 45 quart models, the RTIC 65 has a true 65qt capacity, vs the YETI’s 57qt internal storage. This allows the RTIC to hold up to 64 cans to the YETI’s 42. If its’ storage space you’re after, we’d suggest the RTIC, though the ice life, warranty and materials of YETI reign supreme.
