And there are some terrific performances, particularly Hookings, Waddingham and Dale. This is a taut thriller, and Director Dom Lenoir has proved himself to be a steady and assured pair of hands.

It’s hard to avoid clichés in a detective and serial killer thriller, yet Winter Ridge carefully dodges all predictable twists and empty platitudes.
'Winter Ridge' also starts off unsettlingly and suspensefully, indicating a lot of promise. On the most part the acting is better than average, with the most emotionally committed performances coming from Ian Pririe and Hannah Waddingham.
