Twilight Zone: The Movie is a 1983 American sci-fi horror anthology film produced by Steven Spielberg and John Landis. Based on Rod Serling's 1959–1964 television series of the same name, the film features four stories directed by Landis, Spielberg, Joe Dante, and George Miller. [3]
Uneven best describes it. The George Miller and Joe Dante segments are really good, Landis and Spielberg not so much. The Landis segment is the worst even if you take out the real-life tragedy, and Spielberg's segment seems to belong to a different anthology film.

“Twilight Zone” starts slow, almost grinds to a halt, and then has a fast comeback. Landis directed the first episode, which stars Vic Morrow in the story of a bigot who is transported back in time to Nazi Germany and Vietnam and forced to swallow his own racist medicine.
