A man is killed by a high frequency sound wave which fries his brain. Highly violent and disturbing as blood pours from his nose and mouth as he screams. Bloody shootings and stabbings in pretty much every episode. A man kills his wife, two children, then himself. Violence towards humans and aliens throughout the series.
A spin-off of the doctor who series, Torchwood is a captivating programme but is certainly not for children. If watching with old or mature teenagers, research which episodes to skip, for example in Season 1 - episode 2 (explicit sex scenes) and episode 6 (violence and disturbing imagery - the whole episode is based on cannibalism and this is shown at length).
