   • Like most sci-fi OVAs of the era it focuses on spectacle more than good writing, but it's neat to see the visual synergy with Tekkaman Blade since the power armour base design was pretty much lifted straight out of Orgun. A similar case of Tatsunoko taking one of their retro characters (Casshan) and reinventing him for a much more mature show.

   Is Tekkaman a good show?

   • it genuinely doesn't look much better than the 1975 Tekkaman during a lot of the space battles. It's hilarious to see the two side by side like that and see the lack of quality difference. No wonder I thought it was a much older show early on before I saw the date on it like the OVAs, BUT WHY IS HE BLONDE AGAIN.
