After the first season it definitely has ups and downs. But overall the writing got better and when things do come up, they come up more organically and are attached to character story. The biggest issue is that if you’re a fan of the comic Supergirl This is a major deviation.
It's really not worth watching, just about every episode supergirl is being beat by someone way weaker than her, the entire show distroyed her character, they pushed more for diversity and pushing side characters.
Supergirl is definitely worth watching if you're not invested in every episode being amazingly written and the effect being flawless. Also aside from the main cast, don't expect every actor to be mind blowing in their acting prowess.
