Horror fans, movie fans, and people in general are reluctant to say anything good about the 1981 horror spoof Saturday the 14th. All would have to admit though, that it is far funnier than this film, that is if they were tricked into seeing this one.

Despite the implications of the film's title, it is a spoof of classic horror movies from the 1930s and 1940s, and not a parody of the Friday the 13th series or of slasher films of that type from the 1980s. [4][5] It was followed by Saturday the 14th Strikes Back in 1988.
Not as overtly spooky or funny as the original, but this sequel offers a different flavor of horror spoof, one that is more obviously catered towards a child audience and presents a “kid vs the world” plot that works a lot better for the style than even the original. Feels like a genuine precursor to Goosebumps. More cozy silly goodness.
