Sadako vs. Kayako (貞子 vs 伽椰子, Sadako bāsasu Kayako) is a 2016 Japanese supernatural comedy horror film directed by Kōji Shiraishi. It is a crossover of the Ju-on and Ring series.
Kayako is more like a drone - she's just the face of a bigger threat (the Ju-On itself) but isn't necessarily conscious. Sadako is far more intelligent and pulls the strings from beyond the grave, with potentially apocalyptic implications.
Ringu book spoilers. My personal take on anything with Sadako is that all versions of the ring story, including the American one, and the silly off shoot manga, are cannon at the same time.
The overall reading order seems to differ between Dark Horse and the Japanese publisher, so I have included both orders. The Birthday Trilogy, not to be mistaken with Ring 0, is a trilogy of shorts that are canon, named "The Casket Floating in the Sky", "Lemon Heart", and "Sadako".
