Red River has a stupid feel-good ending that deflates a lot of the intense emotional buildup throughout. But I actually found it more endearing on this most recent watch. The end of The Searchers disintegrates me, but I don't think it's a cohesive whole the way Red River is. Anyway, I love westerns.
