As a member of the London 11+ Consortium, Queens has three stages of assessment which includes an entrance exam, an interview and a reference from the applicant's current school. Applicants come from across London, from a wide range of both independent prep schools and state primaries.

    • Balliol College. The Good Bits. The location! We're right in the middle of Oxford. You'll never have to walk further than about 10 minutes to get anywhere for uni work.
    • Brasenose College. The Good Bits. Excellent location, by far the best in Oxford being the only undergraduate college on Radcliffe Square (considered by many the world's prettiest square) as well as being on the High Street.
    • Christ Church. The Good Bits. Gorgeous grounds and buildings (including the "Harry Potter" dining hall!) and amazing scenery. Probably the best architecture of any college.
    • Corpus Christi College. The Good Bits. Has the Pelican. 'Nuff said. Small, cosy college. You will know absolutely everyone in college, which is always a good thing.

Yes, I checked, and there are around 22 pupils per class (x 3) in Year 7, and as they go up the school, they are placed in sets for the different subjects, so the teaching class sizes are smaller than that. And yes, despite a big increase in applications, the school does still interview all of them.

  4. If your major isn’t STEM, you’ll find decent professors and good resources throughout. Queens College is more of a liberal arts/natural + social sciences/nutrition +environmental science type school. Every STEM major I’ve met here hates it. Liberal arts kids don’t mind it. 9.
