The Friends of Portencross Castle have done a marvellous job of repairing and restoring the structure.I would definitely recommend a visit here and suggest you leave a donation to support them in continuing their good work.

Mar 1, 2024 · What a great little castle. The volunteers were extremely welcoming and informative. Well maintained and lots to explore both in and around the castle to spend a few hours without the little ones getting bored. Worth mentioning that the entry fee was voluntary so would recommend contributing to keep places like this open to the public.

We live less than a few miles from Portencross and have seen the castle transformed. The renovation of the castle is oustanding and the view from the top is one of the best in Scotland no matter the weather. If you are in the area it is a must see attraction. We visit the castle regularly.
