  1. I'd say empire. More factions, a much better tech tree, more factions and they all play differently in the campagin, bigger campagin map, and overall better battle mechanics (NTW looks ALOT nicer though). Napoleon looks better, runs better, has alot less glitches.

  2. Jul 7, 2022 · Empire units look very similar for most of the factions while I found Napoleon to have more variety in this aspect. However, Empire has more variety in campaign. I don´t use mods, just stock games.

  3. I think it's quite simple, Empire has the better Campaign experience, while Napoleon has the better battle experience. Personally, I think Fall of the Samurai is even better then those too in almost all regards, but obviously even more limited in scope and also less open.

  4. If you want to just rush in and play with artillery Napoleon is probably the better option, but if you want a more expansive experience where you can try to conquer far-off lands then Empire might be better if you can put up with the jankiness.

  5. Depends on what you want. Empire offers one of the largest campaign, and what some consider the best trading system in the series. Napoleon is much more focused with and plays just like empire but better optimized and less bugs. 24. Reply.

  6. Apr 28, 2016 · If you get Empire for a super duper sale price, then ok. But really, NTW is much more polished and has more unit options on the tactical screen...like special unit abilities and stuff. Also, the naval aspect is much better in NTW. No, shrapnel shot in NTW though.

  8. Jun 19, 2019 · I'd like to ask you which Total War you prefer: Empire or Napoleon? Napoleon is better than Empire in graphics, but I would also like to read your opinion in terms of campaign map and campaign gameplay, battles (naval and land), variety of factions and units, and in general your gameplay experience.
