Monika (モニカ) is a main character and the poster girl of Doki Doki Literature Club!. She is the President of the Literature Club and is the game's driving force, directing club members to write poems until the club festival, which enables and develops the characters and story.
She has a good side and a bad side, both of which can be seen in the game, and while she did think that her friends being in a game renders them inhuman, she was the one who stripped that humanity away, despite the fact that they could also become aware of their situation.
Although Monika is the antagonist of DDLC and she's responsible for some seriously despicable shit, she is not inherently evil and I will happily explain why. You see, making sense of Monika requires a deeper understanding of her character, her motivations, and her assumptions.
Monika, formally aliased as Monitor Kernel Access, is the titular main protagonist of the visual novel, Doki Doki Literature Club Plus!, the enhanced expansion of the 2017 visual novel, Doki Doki Literature Club!, where she was the game's main antagonist.
