Terraria is more focused on exploring, whereas minecraft is more focused on building. In my opinion, Terraria is more bang for your buck. I love both games, but Terraria is so much more FUN and has much more content for the measly $10 you pay for it.
Apr 21, 2020 · Minecraft doesn’t have as much content, but it gives you lots more freedom to do what you want. In Terraria there isn’t much to do than follow a walkthrough and go through with it. In Minecraft, you will certainly get sidetracked from anything you have set as your goal.

Minecraft is more open-ended. You can work to get to the End and defeat the Ender Dragon, but it's not required. If you like, you can just build a base, explore the overworld, mine, and do whatever.
